Leon Beauchman is currently serving his 13th year on the Santa Clara County Board of Education. He is the president of the Santa Clara County Alliance of Black Educators, and director of the Wireless Communications Initiative, which is a Joint Venture Silicon Valley project. In this capacity, he works with wireless carriers, cities and community organization to improve the wireless communications infrastructure in Silicon Valley. Previously, he worked as Area Manager in the External Affairs organization at AT&T and is a 24-year veteran of the company.
Leon has served on the board of Directors for both the California School Boards Association and California County Boards of Education. He previously served on the Campbell Union School District Board of Trustees and the California High School Exit Exam Panel, the California Education Master Plan Committee and San Jose Mayor's Education Task Force. In addition, Leon has served in leadership positions for several community organizations.
Leon graduated from San Jose State University with a Masters in Business Administration. He has been married for over 30 years and has three adult sons who have graduated from college.
