PEOPLE FIRST LANGUAGE
People First Language is the respectful language to use for referring to people with disabilities. People First Language puts the person before the disability, and it describes what a person has, not who a person is. Inclusive Child Care Options
Community Child Care Council (4C)— Provides referrals of child care providers who have had training in working with children who have special needs, have openings in their programs to provide inclusive child care. Referrals will be made by specialized referral counselors with a child’s special needs in mind. (408)487-0749
