Calls for Berryessa Special Election
SAN JOSE, CA – Dr. Colleen Wilcox, Santa Clara County schools
superintendent, has ordered a special election to fill the trustee position
vacated by the resignation of Kansen Chu from the board of trustees of the
Berryessa Union School District.
Dr. Wilcox determined that a petition received by her office on Sept. 11,
2007, to call for the election was valid. Today she notified the Santa Clara
County registrar of voters of the determination and of her call for the special
election.
She also proposed to the registrar that the election be consolidated with the
regular election scheduled for February 5, 2008.
The determination means that the board's provisional appointment to the
position is terminated immediately.
