Election Set for Three Seats
On School District Organizations Panel
SAN JOSE, CA – An election will be held to seat three members of the
Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization on November 30,
2007.
The primary responsibilities of the Committee are the reorganization of
school districts (through territory transfers and unification) and the
establishment/rearrangement of governing board trustee areas in the school
districts.
There are 11 seats on the County Committee -- two from each of the five
county supervisorial districts, and one member elected at-large. This year, one
candidate from supervisorial districts 1, 3 and 5 each will be elected.
Candidates must be registered voters and reside in the county supervisorial
district that they wish to represent. No employee of a public school district or
the County Office of Education may serve on the County Committee. However,
members of the governing board of a school district may serve.
Interested persons should submit an application to the County Office of
Education. The application should include a letter of intent to serve and a
brief résumé of the individual's background and experience that would
contribute to participation in the activities of the County Committee.
Candidates must submit the necessary information by 5:00 p.m., October 31,
2007 to :
