County Students Surpass
Statewide Peers in 2007 Exit Exam
SAN JOSE, CA – Results released on Thursday for Santa Clara County
10th graders who took the California High School Exit Exam in 2006 show the
continuation of well-established trends:
County students on average outperform their counterparts statewide, and the
percentage of 10th-graders passing either segment of the test hovers at just
over 80 percent.
In the English/Language Arts segment of the test, a higher percentage of 10th
grade SCC students (82%) passed the CAHSEE than did students statewide (77%).
Likewise, in Mathematics, a higher percentage of 10th grade SCC students
(84%) passed the CAHSEE than students statewide (76%).
The SCCOE has analyzed the data and their findings are synopsized on
the SCCOE Web site, at www.sccoe.org.
