Free SChoolCharts Access Announced
SAN JOSE, CA – All California schools will be given free access to an
extensive set of data for the 2007-2008 school year.
SChoolCharts (cq)—produced by the Santa Clara County Office of Education, in
partnership with SchoolCity, Inc.-- can be accessed through the SCCOE Web site
at http://www.sccoe.org/schoolplan/.
The charts will be accessible on July 16, 2007. Interested persons can simply
log in and set up a free account for the school year.
The charts show data from the California Standards Tests, California High
School Exit Exam and Physical Fitness Test, as well as API and other sources. In
all, users will be able to see over 200 views of school performance on district,
county and state levels. SChoolCharts tracks results over time, which addresses
the crucial need of schools to demonstrate improvement in student performance
from year to year. It also disaggregates data by programs and subgroups, another
essential element of testing requirements.
SChoolCharts was released last year to support schools that participate in
SChoolPlan, an integrated planning and reporting system that SCCOE has offered
to districts on a cost recovery basis for five years. To date over 400 users
have accessed SChoolCharts.
