SCCOE Community Support
Mission:
The mission of the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is to be a
champion for children, schools, and the community. In keeping with our mission,
the Office is committed to social responsibility in all its education, business,
and community activities.
Dear Staff,
One of the trademarks of our organization is the generosity and community
spirit of our staff. Employees of the County Office of Education have a long
tradition of contributing to Second Harvest Food Bank, the Salvation Army, Next
Door, InnVision and more. [ Read more... ]
In these tough economic times, virtually every non-profit organization is
strapped for funds. Many struggle to maintain services that are vital to the
health and welfare of individuals and families, even though their programs
enrich our community, advance the arts, and preserve our environment for future
generations.
Typically there are one or two organizations that each of us finds especially
compelling and worthy of our support. That’s why we have joined other employers
in a countywide Combined Giving Campaign.
This campaign allows employees to give to nonprofit organizations through
four federations: Arts Council Silicon Valley, Community Health Charities of
California, EarthShare California, and United Way Silicon Valley. A federation
is a group of voluntary charitable organizations established for the purpose of
supplying common fundraising, administrative and management services to its
members. Through the federations, donors have access to hundreds of individual
charitable organizations over a broad spectrum of interest areas. You can give
to one of these “umbrella agencies” and they will use your contribution where it
is needed most; or you can specifically designate one of their 300-plus agencies
or organizations. Your gift will help support local causes such as food for the
hungry; shelter for the homeless; literacy and the arts; the environment; and
care for children, families and wildlife.
Whether your contribution is small or large, one-time or ongoing through
payroll deductions, when added to those of your colleagues and contributors
countywide, they can make a tremendous difference for people and programs in
need. I hope you’ll join me in our commitment to be “champions of children,
schools and community” and “a value-added partner to student families,
businesses, and governmental and community-based organizations” by joining the
Combined Giving Campaign.
If you would like to participate, simply select one or more participating
agencies and complete the donation form.
