The Santa Clara County Office of Education works in partnership with the California Department
of Education and community agencies to offer support and assistance to districts and schools in
providing a safe and drug free educational environment.
Support, technical assistance, and training are provided in conjunction with Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities
(SDFSC) and Tobacco Use and Prevention Education (TUPE) grants. Emphasis is placed on scientifically based programs approved by
the California Department of Education that offer students and schools prevention and intervention
techniques and provide a positive youth development climate.
