How can you know if your Benchmark Assessments achieve the purposes that they were designed to achieve? This webinar, led by Dr. Bill Conrad, the Director of Assessment and Accountability at the Santa Clara County Office of Education, will introduce participants to a variety of high quality statistical tools that educators can use to empirically validate Benchmark Assessments after they are administered. A second purpose of this webinar is to build an opportunity for district leaders to engage with the SCCOE team to design and implement district-specific workshops that will support leaders in the validation of their Benchmark and or Placement assessments. Key outcomes for this webinar include:

  • Learn how to use sample theories of action and quality indicators to improve Benchmark Assessments.
  • Learn how to use classical statistics to improve Benchmark Assessment Items
  • Learn How to use Wright Mapping visualizations to Improve Benchmark Assessments
  • Plan for district-specific opportunities to empirically validate Benchmark Assessments
